Villa La Angostura and Cerro Bayo
Full day to Villa La Angostura, a mountain village on Lake Nahuel Huapi, with time at the Cerro Bayo ski centre and in the village itself.
Description
Villa La Angostura is 80 kilometres from Bariloche on Route 40, a drive that follows the shore of Lake Nahuel Huapi and crosses into the province of Neuquén.
The first stop is Cerro Bayo, the village ski centre and its viewpoint over the lake. The chairlifts are optional and paid at the base, where there is also a bar and services for anyone who prefers to stay at the bottom. The tour then continues into Villa La Angostura, a village of wood and stone buildings, with free time for lunch and a walk along its main street.
The afternoon takes in the old town and the bays around it before the drive back to Bariloche. The day runs about ten hours and involves no demanding walking.
