Circuito Chico
Half day along the Circuito Chico, the classic drive out of Bariloche: 60 kilometres beside Lake Nahuel Huapi as far as Llao Llao.
Description
The Circuito Chico is the classic drive out of Bariloche, a loop of about 60 kilometres along the southern shore of Lake Nahuel Huapi. It leaves the town centre on Avenida Bustillo, the road that runs between the water and the forest the whole way.
At kilometre 17 it reaches the foot of Cerro Campanario, where a chairlift, not included, climbs to a viewpoint 1,050 metres up over the lakes and islands. Further on the route passes Playa Bonita, the view across to Huemul island and the Llao Llao area, with its hotel, the San Eduardo chapel and Puerto Panuelo.
The loop then takes in Bahia Lopez and ends at the Punto Panoramico, looking out over Lake Moreno and the Llao Llao peninsula, before returning to town. It runs as a half day with a guide on board and is the usual first outing for anyone arriving in Bariloche.
