Description
Cerro Perito Moreno rises above El Bolson, around 120 kilometres south of Bariloche, and is one of the ski areas of northern Patagonia. This is a winter outing and runs only during the snow season.
The drive follows Route 40 south, between mountains, forest and the valley of El Bolson, and takes roughly two hours each way. At the mountain the day is free: lifts, ski and snowboard hire, lessons and sledges are all available on site and none of them are included in the tour.
It suits families and groups who want a day on the mountain without sorting out the logistics themselves. Anyone who does not ski can stay around the base area, which looks out over the Andes. The trip depends on the weather and on the operating conditions of the ski centre. Bookings close 72 hours before departure.
