Circuito Chico and Cerro Catedral
Full day combining the Circuito Chico, the classic loop along Lake Nahuel Huapi, with a stop at the base of Cerro Catedral.
Description
The Circuito Chico is the outing most visitors do first. It leaves the centre of Bariloche along Avenida Bustillo, which follows the southern shore of Lake Nahuel Huapi for around 25 kilometres between the water and the forest.
The road passes the foot of Cerro Campanario, where a chairlift climbs to a viewpoint over the lakes, and reaches the Llao Llao area, with the Llao Llao Hotel, the San Eduardo chapel, Puerto Pañuelo and the Panoramic Point over the Moreno lakes. The chairlift is optional and paid separately.
The last stop is the base of Cerro Catedral, the largest ski centre in South America, with time to take in the views before returning to town. The day runs about eight and a half hours and the walking is short and on level ground.
