Description
The Quebrada de Humahuaca is a valley in the province of Jujuy listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage site. The trip leaves Salta and covers its best known villages in a single day.
It stops at Purmamarca, at the foot of the Hill of Seven Colours, at Maimara with the rock face known as the Painter's Palette, and at Tilcara, where you can visit the Pucara, a pre-Hispanic hilltop settlement. The last stop is the town of Humahuaca, with its cobbled historic centre.
The route takes in the Andean culture of the gorge, its coloured hills and its villages. This version does not include the climb to the Hornocal viewpoint.
