Horse Riding Half Day
Half-day ride at an estancia on the Patagonian steppe, 30 kilometres from Bariloche. Suitable for families and for first-time riders.
Description
The ride takes place at an estancia on the Patagonian steppe, about 30 kilometres from Bariloche, where the forest gives way to open dry country. The terrain is rolling rather than flat, with climbs, descents, fords and small streams along the way.
The horses are gentle and used to riders of all kinds, so no previous experience is needed. It works well as a family outing: children can take part from the age of two, and the guides set the pace of the group. There is a chance of spotting local wildlife such as deer as you ride.
The morning starts with a criollo breakfast at the estancia before mounting up, and lunch is served back at the house afterwards. Allow around four hours in total, including the return transfer from Bariloche. Bookings close 72 hours before departure.
